Chili and 7 Layer Dip Recipe

Seven Layer Dip Recipe is one of the simplest and most popular snacks for game day.

1/4 c. sliced green onions

1 c. shredded cheddar cheese

1 6-oz. container guacamole dip (there is a difference between guacamole dip and guacamole.)

2/3 c. chopped, seeded tomatoes (you can leave the seeds in if you like, they add flavor too)

1 8-oz. carton sour cream (low fat or fat free if you care)

1 9-oz. can bean dip (or pureed pinto beans, or whatever you like from the mexican section)

2 tbsp. sliced, pitted olives

1/4 c. taco sauce or picante sauce (basically salsa)

Start at the bottom and work your way up. Go!

First, I put the beans at the bottom. Here’s a hint. Sometimes a component mash too hard, so you can add a little vegetable oil to thin it and make sliding so you do not break the chips.

Next, layer on the guacamole, then sour cream.

Once this is done, you can pour on the salsa evenly and then sprinkle with tomatoes, cheese and olives. (shredded cheese on the top).

Finally garnish with green onions. Serve with tortilla chips for dipping.

There are just many ways you can use it and make it even better…

Start by mixing a variety of sauces, when you do drop your seven layers. You can literally make hundreds of different varieties.

There are also many recipes for guacamole to taste. What you really need to think about using the best ingredients. Instead of cheap cheddar, use something good out of Vermont. Use fresh avocados to guacamole. Try to use the grapes and ripe tomatoes in the salsa… Finally, try sprucing up your 7 layer dip recipe with the drop in the lime juice, cumin and coriander.
